I am filling up my 2016 schedule – just updated my teaching schedule with two more events: Stateline Friends Weaving Retreat and Stowe Basketry Festival.
I am so excited to be teaching at Stateline Friends Weaving Retreat again. This event takes place in Richmond, Indiana in April. Their website goes live this week, September 17th. I can’t wait to to see the classes and the teachers. Don’t delay – this event is usually full within three days of registration opening. You will want to attend, the event is alive with energy and creativity. Click here to go to their website.
I am also very excited to be going back to the Stowe Basketry Festival. This international event takes place in scenic Stowe, Vermont in early June. Come weave on the mountain with us! 2016 is their 25th anniversary so I’m sure Merry is planning quite the celebration. Details will be posted on their website in the near future, click here and bookmark the site.
These are just two events, you should check out my teaching schedule for all the events I have coming up. I just got back from Land of Lincoln Basketweavers Association’s Camp Tuck-A-Basket in Normal Illinois. If you missed it, you should make plans to attend next fall. It’s a great event! I’ll be teaching in Minneapolis for the Minnesota Basket Weaver’s Guild later this month and the Association of Michigan Basket Weavers annual convention is just around the corner. I am happy to say I have kits packed and ready for classes!
The Texas Basket Weavers Association is planning another great event, “Kicking it Up in Dallas” in January. It should be warmer in Texas than here in Wisconsin come January! Woven Together in Western Kentucky is in early March. Last year they got over two feet of snow – snowed in with all those baskets to weave and someone else cooking, sounds pretty wonderful! Its a great event and, really, they don’t expect snow in 2016. 🙂 Then mid March, I’ll be flying to North Carolina Basketmakers Association’s annual convention. About then, it’s nice to get a taste of spring and see flowers for a week.
I hope to see many of you at one of these events!
And, now that my website is updated and I have proposals written and ready for the mailman, I should post this blog and get back to writing patterns. But first, here are the patterns I am working on this week:
I’ll let you know when they are available.
I feel like I have traveled to many exciting basket events with you after reading where you have been and are going. I hope to see you at an upcoming basket event. I am looking forward to your new basket designs. Keep us informed when they will be available.
🙂 I hope to see you soon Cheryl!
