Some weeks …
aren’t what you plan …
I got home from the Texas Basket Weavers Association convention late on January 23rd. It was a great event, but that’s a lot of miles and I was hoping for a quiet eight days at home before heading out again. No such luck. It wasn’t a bad week – just a little crazy. Well, maybe a lot crazy! My short list of ‘must do’ grew and grew and grew. Here’s a peak:
- unpack
- go car shopping (an unexpected neccesity)
- finish unpacking
- laundry
- finish up Texas Event paper work and get to the bank
- groceries (fridge is empty again)
- go car shopping
- go to the chiropractor (just a regular visit)
- blog about my time in Texas (read it here)
- hair appointment
- unexpected dentist appointment (sheared a crown right off – got scolded for chewing gum)
- go car shopping (yes I am getting tired of repeating this – good news is I found one on this expedition)
- respond to as many as emails as you can in two hours (Diane V.H. I love you, I am going respond – soon!)
- make corrections to Pinwheels pattern and add it to website
- update Teaching Schedule
- work on event proposals
- make a plan for preparing for May – June classes
- make supplies list – Need.To.Order.More.Reed.
- do telephone interview
- clean house (it needed it – so glad my husband helps AND thankful he offered to clean my studio while I am gone – think I’ll keep him 😉
- make additions to Class Notes for Recursion
- add handles to Zoe kits and bases to Whispers kits.
- pack for Georgia Convention
- work on more event proposals
- go to the chiropractor (NOT a regular visit – threw my back out – so glad he could fix that!)
- weave sample basket
- more laundry
- WAIT – we had four family birthdays – I think I only remembered 2 🙁 In case you are reading, Happy Birthday Laura, Joey, Sandy and Gerald)
- finish the Dou Delight Bracelet by Linda Scherz Allen (even if it takes all night!)
- finish packing for Georgia Convention
- purchase and pick up new vehicle (and do all the new car calls-insurance, etc.)
- pack new vehicle
- blog
This is a partial list – but it gives you an idea of my ‘quiet’ week at home.
Today, I head south to the Georgia Basketry Association Convention in Marietta, Georgia. I am looking forward to another great event, catching up with dear friends and possibly some warmer weather (at least warmer than Wisconsin will be having). And, maybe, when I get home next week – I’ll get that quiet week and time to finish that tutorial I started.
Thanks for reading the Basket Teacher
Yikes. Hope you are getting enough sleep.
