Baskets forever and ever…
… the 2017 Georgia Basketry Association 2017 Convention
took place in Marietta, Georgia. It was a great event – every where I looked people were having fun weaving and visiting with old and new friends.
I taught three classes:
It is one of my favorite classes to teach. With lots of color choices, everyone’s basket is truly their own and I love teaching Ti-Twining.
And then we wove ZOE.
It was an intense class – it is a challenging basket – but so worth it! Everyone worked hard – counted and counted, wove and wove and then we turned the corners! As you can see, Jan’s basket shaped up beautifully.
And then we wove Twines and Braids. I think everyone left understanding the four strand braid, but if they need a refresher, my four strand braid tutorial can be found here.
And, you know, one of the best parts of basket weaving and basket events, is the people. I enjoyed getting to know Betty and I got to hang out with my good friend Shirley (and Anne and Patti). Life is good!
If you missed the Georgia Convention – consider attending next year! Book mark their website: http://georgiabasketry.com
And now I am home for a quiet week … at least that’s the plan.
Thank you for reading the Basket Teacher.
Annetta it looks like a fun set of classes! I love your new patterns and hope I get a chance to weave some of them with you.
